ZTE nubia RedMagic 12 Pro Plus

The company’s new Nubia RedMagic 12 Pro+ has the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip. Performance is all that matters on gaming phones most of the time, but this year, they wanted to work on the design. Their gaming phones keep getting thicker, and the flat design with sharp edges hinders the experience over hours. They’ve now gone back to the rounded design. Even the screen’s getting much slimmer bezels. A teaser showed a 0.96 mm black bar around the display. The phone has the fastest chip to date. There’s a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip onboard with eight cores and a 5.01 GHz boost clock speed. What matters more is the GPU power, and this silicon has that in spades with the Adreno 850 iGPU. This chip has support for LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 storage. We learned from the Geekbench listing that the RedMagic 12 Pro+ has at least 16GB of RAM. This is still a gaming phone, so you’ll have shoulder triggers. And the chip will run the fastest WiFi 7. No details about the camera or battery have leaked, but we do know that the phone will ship with Android 17 out of the box, and there will be a RedMagic OS 12 skin on it. The phone will sit in the same category as the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, but the RedMagic 12 Pro+ is more meant for gaming than general-purpose daily use.
